The annual Telephone Campaign is an important cornerstone in Oriel’s Development and Alumni Relations programme; connecting current students to Orielenses around the world and ensuring that, wherever they may be, Orielenses retain a strong connection to the College.

The Telephone Campaign took place during the Easter Vacation, between the 13th and 27th March. Our callers spoke to over 400 Orielenses, with over half of those spoken to choosing to make a gift, raising over £158,000 for the projects here at Oriel in the process.
Once again, we want to thank everyone who took the time to speak with our students, not only for their support of the College, but also for passing their invaluable knowledge and experience onto our callers.
This year’s Student Calling Team was a mix of students from various years and subjects. The one thing they had in common was that they all learned something new about the College!

We asked this year’s student callers why chose to take part in the campaign:
“My hope with participating in the Telephone Campaign is that I will manage to contribute meaningfully to the college, whilst meeting former Orielenses and learning more about its rich history.” – Sofija
“I’m taking part in the telephone campaign because I think it is really important for donors to be able to engage with current students, allowing them to hear about what’s going on in college along with what their money will be put towards. I’m also really interested in finding out about donor’s experiences of Oriel and what has changed since they were here.” – Lara
“I’m taking part in the telephone campaign because, in the short time I’ve been here, I’ve really felt accepted and integrated into the community of Oriel and am keen to improve and extend that experience to future students. I also look forward to the opportunity to connect with alumni of the college, and to compare stories and times spent here.” – Peggy
