Oriel is committed to supporting students while they are here, ensuring that financial hardship is never a barrier to education.
Here are just a few of the bursaries that alumni have helped to provide. If you want to find out about any of our other bursaries, contact the Development Office.
The Siew Lian Lim Bursary was established for the 2013/14 academic year and is already making a difference to the lives of our students. The means-tested bursary is available to undergraduates from South East Asia and China and covers annual University and College tuition fees.
Each year Oriel gives one student the chance to undertake an eight week Chemistry Research project in the summer, and the funding for the student comes largely from the generosity of Oriel alumni. Projects like these are an important part of giving students the chance to pursue their research interests and broaden their knowledge of their subject.
Oriel offers a number of subject based bursaries to students, most of which have been funded by Orielenses and are offered to the students with the greatest financial need.
The Oxford Bursaries are the backbone of Oriel’s student support fund. These bursaries are funded jointly by the University and the College, and are awarded automatically to any undergraduate who qualifies on the basis of their household income. These funds help with living costs and a reduction in tuition fees.
