Geoffrey Austin (1983) is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, the leading independent investment bank, where he specialises in advising clients in the media and communications sector. He has over 25 years of investment banking experience and was previously Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Media and Communications Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank and, prior to that, at Hambros Bank. He holds an M.A. from Oriel College, Oxford, and attended the Corporate Finance Programme at London Business School.
Geoffrey is Chair of the Oriel Alumni Advisory Committee, the purpose of which is to represent the interests of all alumni and to help foster relations between Oriel College and its former students, former staff and friends. He was previously President of the Oriel Society and, from 2006 until 2011, when it combined with Oriel College, Chairman of the Oriel College Development Trust. He is a Trustee of the Eden Trust, which is responsible for the Eden Project at Bodelva, Cornwall, and a Member of the Childline Board of the NSPCC.
Annabel Bosman (1993) is Head of Relationship Management for RBC Wealth Management, in the UK and Channel Islands. As part of the leadership team, Annabel is focused on driving the success of RBC and ensuring clients receive the best of the organization. Her positivity and broad experience garnered from a twenty year career in wealth management have been instrumental in helping her bring teams together, under a common goal and culture. She has a particular focus on ensuring diversity across the organization that reflects an evolving client base and contributes to industry-wide conversations around how wealth management firms can better look after female clients. Prior to joining RBC in July 2019, Annabel started her career at Barclays and has also worked at Citi, Deutsche and Julius Baer.
Mahgul Ansari (2000) studied Modern Languages initially at Oriel, before transferring to UCL for the remainder of her degree. Following graduation, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Deloitte’s audit practice followed by 2 years valuing companies and intangible assets at PwC. On realising her true interest lay in investment management, Mahgul transitioned from an accountancy career to equity analysis, and worked on both the sell and buy side. Mahgul is currently an independent analyst advising hedge funds and other institutional investors on UK and European stocks.
James Power (2014) read Computer Science and Philosophy at Oriel, graduating in 2017 with a BA. During the long vacations James completed several internships, including one at Morgan Stanley in London. After graduating he took a six-month placement working at TNG Technology Consulting in Munich before returning to Morgan Stanley at the beginning of 2018. James has been with Morgan Stanley since then, and works on intraday risk systems for fixed income trading desks in London and around the world.
Gabriela Arias (2017) is a member of the Monitoring Advisory Team at Bishopsfield Capital Partners (BCP). There, she focuses on facilitating more efficient and informed issuer/investor decision-making for some of the largest project finance debt capital market and private credit market financings in Europe. Although she now works more on the finance and commercial side, Gabriela is a qualified lawyer in El Salvador with 4 years of post-qualification experience in finance, restructuring, and insolvency. Prior to joining BCP, she worked for Banco Azteca as an insolvency and restructuring litigation in-house counsel.
Gabriela was the first Salvadoran to graduate from MSc in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford. She also holds an LL.B. from Universidad Dr. Jose Matias Delgado, as well as post-graduates’ degrees from Yale University and Leiden University. She is a former member of El Salvador’s national fencing team and the University of Oxford fencing team where she earned a Full Blue. She is currently a CFA Level I candidate.
